Brrr....

Snow Dragons, Digital Collage - © R. Koleilat, 2008
I've been trying to dig myself out from under the snow in my driveway since last Wednesday. My neighbours, who all seem to own very un-PC snowblowers, zoom by, wave and smile at me as if I'm having a good time futilely waving that stupid shovel around. That face I had on wasn't me having fun, folks, it was me crying!
I had fun creating these "snowflakes" on this very cute website* (they let you save and download your creations, so you earn extra points with your kids). I used a copyright-free photo from Gimp-Savvy for the background and played with it on photoshop.
And speaking of playing, go check out this fun party that Julie told me about. While you're at it, also check out Julie's icy beauty too (hmmm, our last two posts have dealt with the same themes. Coincidence? twilight-zoney... ♫toodoodoodoo♪... )
* There are lots of sites that let you create really sophisticated flakes (fractals, anyone?), just google snowflake generator to find them.

Hi Rima,

Very cool (whoops, wrong word - fun) collage! I am sorry that your perky neighbors just waved on by. I hate it when that happens!

Thanks for this snowflake tip - I had no idea!

Those snowflakes look like fun. I'll have to try that. Love the collage.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's always nice to meet new people.

Makes we wish we'd had snow ...none for us this year. Must try a snowflake generator instead - beautiful results.

I'll make a pact with the snowblower gods to see they pay! Isn't it amazing that people with blowers don't offer to do the entire block. I used to live in the snow and would shovel the entire block because I felt bad for everyone else. Hmmpph..bad neighbors. Your collage is fitting and extraordinary.

Those snowflakes are stunning! Just beautiful!
So sorry to hear about your snow shovelling session. That would of course be a complete novelty here in Tauranga but I sympathise with anyone who HAS to do it!

Thankyou for your lovely comment and advice on my collage...will sleep on it but I think you may be right...

These are the sorts of snowflakes which we have made in the past by spending a long time cutting paper, and putting them on our windows to decorate at Christmas.

As a result, at first I thought you had been very busy doing this and somehow sticking them on your screen, as they are very elaborate (like 'heavy duty snowflakes', somebody's got a way with words lol), as I am still not that au fait with the computer age.
Great collage.

Lovely image and funny post - I had a neighbor with a snow blower and he was a godsend - he is much older now, almopst disabled, and we still do his sidewalk and up to his front door.

Lately there is less snow here - that sentence should result in a blizzard within a week.

I have about forty crocuses blooming now - planted a thousand in my lawn which prevents me from using weed killers. Dandellion haven. Looks awesomne in late April.

My yard has the most small snakes of anyone I know round here - garter snakes that are harmless and eat worms, slugs, etc. I garden very organically for the most part. Pick up ten rocks and find a snake....very popular with the cub scout crowd.

Whoa! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS COLLAGE. I like the way the woman seems to be rushing toward or away from something. And the snowflakes are scrumptious. Very nice work, Rima!

p.s. those links were so much FUN! I sent a few to dh for his playtime.

I couldn't be happier to see so many recent posts here, Rima, and I am enjoying them all. You are a wealth of information and delight.

I'm with Bobbie and everyone else here...I LOVE THIS COLLAGE! You are so talented and I beg you for more of everything.

I admire your collage with the snowflakes and I suppose I will have to go to one of those websites and try them out for myself, but I don't think I will be able to make a collage such as you made. I am not quite that proficient.

I also like the new template and the color red and the style of the lettering. One day, I want to do that really well for my own web log. I'l have to sit and take my time some day and fiddle around with it.

Don't be a stranger. We are all extensions of each other.

Love the collage Rima! I like the snowflakes, but I especially dig the way the image has been given that "drawn" effect. It's really cool. Sorry you're having to deal with all that snow. If you want you can send some my way, we haven't had any yet this year (just send it south).
